Therapy in New Paltz, NY
Marlboro, Wallkill, Modena and Gardiner are 20 to 25 minutes south to our Newburgh office, and New Paltz is about 25. Stone Ridge and Woodstock are closer to an hour, so telehealth is the simple way to meet from there.
Getting to the office
From Marlboro it's straight down 9W, about 19 minutes. From Wallkill, Route 300 south and Union Avenue take about 22. From Modena and Gardiner, Route 32 south takes 23 to 26 minutes. Marlboro and Wallkill are closer to our office than New Paltz is, which surprises people.
From New Paltz, the Thruway south is about 26 minutes with a toll, and Route 32 is about 32 minutes without one. From Stone Ridge it's about 44 minutes, and from Woodstock about 54, both by the Thruway.
For SUNY New Paltz students
If you're a student, telehealth can fit around classes without a drive. One thing to know: our clinicians practice in New York State, so you need to be in New York State for each session. If home is in New Jersey or Connecticut, plan for a gap over winter and summer break, or set up sessions for the weeks you're here.
Students who are 18 or older can reach out on their own. You don't need a parent to call for you.
In Stone Ridge and Woodstock, an hour each way is a lot to ask every week. Telehealth from home is the practical choice there, and you can always ask about coming in.
Insurance and cost
We take these plans. If you'd rather pay for yourself, individual sessions are $100 and couples sessions are $115.

How long is the drive from New Paltz?
About 26 minutes by the Thruway, or about 32 by Route 32, going by Google Maps on a weekday late morning.
Is the Thruway worth the toll from New Paltz?
It saved about six minutes on the day we checked. Route 32 is free and still about half an hour.
Can I keep seeing my therapist when I go home for break?
Only if home is in New York State. If you'll be out of state, talk with your therapist before break about how to pause and pick up again.
Do you take student health insurance?
It depends on the plan, and student plans vary a lot. Call, or send the request form with the name on your card, and we'll check before your first session.
Is there an office in New Paltz?
No. Our only office is in Newburgh, about 25 minutes south. Telehealth works anywhere in New York State, including on campus.
