“We love each other, but we can't get along.”
Family therapy
Family therapy can help the people in your home talk and listen to each other. It looks at how everyone affects everyone else, instead of putting one person on the spot. Any kind of family can come, including stepfamilies, grandparents raising grandkids and grown children with their parents.
What it can feel like
- Dinner turns into an argument, or everyone eats in a different room.
- One person's struggles are affecting the whole house.
- Your kids are growing up with different rules than you did, and it leads to fights.
- You feel stuck in the middle between people you love.
- Since a divorce or a move, your family hasn't felt the same.
How therapy can help
Family therapy looks at the patterns between people, like who does the talking and how arguments start. Who comes to sessions can change. Sometimes it's everyone, and sometimes it's a parent and one child.
The therapist helps each person get a turn, including the quiet ones and the youngest. You decide together what you want to be different at home, and you can go at a pace that works for your family.

Questions people ask
Does everyone in the family have to come?
No. You can start with whoever is ready, and others can join later if they want to.
What if we don't agree on what the problem is?
That's very common, and it's a fine place to start. Part of the work is hearing each person's side.
Can we come even if it isn't a crisis?
Yes. Some families come during a hard stretch. Others come before a big change, like a new baby, a move or a grandparent moving in.
The first step is a phone call or a short form.
You don't need the right words. We'll take it from there, and you can switch therapists any time it doesn't fit.
